Local 100 has welcomed the adoption of revised night-operations standards, which the union first proposed after a member survey identified fatigue as the leading safety concern among overnight crews.
The standards introduce a minimum rest interval between consecutive night shifts and require a second qualified operator on long-haul overnight runs.
“Our members raised this, and they were right to,” said the Business Manager. “Rules written from the field are the ones that hold up in the field.”
